The story begins in an empty smart house in Allendale, California. As the day begins at 7AM, the house's daily routine begins. It soon becomes apparent that the house is completely empty of human inhabitants. As the day goes on we learn that this house the only one standing among piles of rubble and a radioactive glow. We can infer from the "radioactive glow" that this takes place after a nuclear war. Also, the silhouette's of the house's former inhabitants are imprinted on the houses wall showing that this story took place after a nuclear bomb went off. We see that even though that humans are gone, nature and life continues. At the end of the story a fire begins in the house. Only one wall of the house stands but it continues to follow it's same routine showing the house will never stop.
